BROOKLYN BIKE BUS FEATURED IN NY TIMES!

Bergen Bike Bus in Brooklyn NY kids bike to school

My daughter and I love riding to school with the Brooklyn Bergen Bike Bus and were thrilled to see this recent article "Make Way for the Bike Bus" by John Surico in the New York Times!

Kudos to all the riders and particularly Emily Stutts for organizing the Bergen Bike Bus and other bike buses in Brooklyn! We can't wait to see how this movement grows- and to keep riding with them next year.

My wish is that the movement will help gather momentum to add more fully protected bike lanes in Brooklyn so families will feel safer cycling- and even more will do it! The paint on the road lanes are not enough and do not deter drivers from parking and swerving into them. We really need protected lanes- especially on some key artery streets like Dekalb and Bedford Ave. to name only a few.

The Atlantic Ave. fully protected bike lane is a great example. Mayor Eric Adams- please make more of these isolated lanes. We desperately need safer biking infrastructure in Brooklyn. It is the best way to get around but it needs to be safer.
