In other news- May is National Bike Month! Time to rally your besties, dust off your 2-wheels, and gear up for the fun, free events across the USA. We’ll be representing at several NYC festivities. On Friday May 3 & Saturday May 4 we’ll have a booth stocked with  designer reflective gear at the Bike New York Expo  at Pier 66, 299 South Street NYC. Come by to stop and also to nab some brilliant give-aways courtesy of 3M Scotchlite, the best of the best of Reflective Materials. On Sat. May 4  there will be 2 Bike Fashion shows curated by the impeccable Molly and Mia of Momentum Mag fame. May 11th we’ll be causing a rumble in Park Slope at the Brooklyn Bike Jumble at Washington/JJ Byrne Park. And last but not least, May 17th is Bike to Work Day. Bike to our booth for a nightcap at Transportation Alternatives’ Bike Home from Work Party at the Archway under the Manhattan Bridge in Dumbo, Brooklyn. You’ll find bike valets, the hippest vendors, hair-raising events, and your favorite food trucks. Plus free beer and D.O.T. commissioner Janette Sadik-Kahn wearing her Vespertine Racing Jacket at the Night-Time Reflective Fashion Show! But most importantly, be sure to swing by and introduce yourself. We can’t wait to meet you!

According to Angelo Colombo, owner of Cinelli the famed Italian road bike brand, the Red Hook Crit is the hippest most exciting bike race in the world right now. OK- full disclosure- his company is a sponsor of the race, too- but still- that’s a pretty high recommendation from someone who knows a whole lot about bike racing.  I was over the moon when David Trimble, the sporting young entrepreneurial spirit behind the night-time fixed gear bike race in Red Hook suggested that I do a collaboration with them.  And thus was born the Red Hook Riding Dress. A dashing red shirt-dress with 3 reflective buttons and a silver lining.

The Red Hook Riding dress made her debut last night on podium girls Laura and Jennifer as they handed out the accolades to the winners of this first Red Hook Crit event of the year.

While the racers were sweating it out on the course, we did an impromptu photo-shoot on the gorgeous yacht that the Trimble family rents and stays on during the event – so look out for some fun new pic!
